Talk ‘N Text guns for another No. 1 finish as Barangay Ginebra seeks a win that could guarantee them a playoff for the semifinal seat in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The Tropang Texters battle the eliminated Petron Blaze Boosters in the main game at 7:30 p.m. while the Kings square off with Air21 in the opener at 5:15 p.m.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes expects the Boosters to go all out in the final day of the elimination round as a win by Petron will benefit its sister teams B-MEG and Ginebra.

“Huge game as we’re attempting to grab the No. 1 seed which I’m sure the SMC group is hell-bent on denying us,” said Reyes.

“Petron will go all out to help their sister teams and rightly so. We must play our best to have a chance,” Reyes added.

A win by the Tropang Texters will give them a 7-2 mark and the No. 1 seed for the fifth time in the last six conferences.

A loss coupled by a Kings win over the Express will create a three-way tie for the top two spots along with the Llamados as they will all finish with identical 6-3 mark.

In that case, B-MEG will gain the No. 1 seat and Ginebra and Talk ‘N Text will figure in a playoff for the No. 2 position.

The Tropang Texters could still end up as No. 1 even if they lose to Petron if Air21 upsets the Kings in the opener.

And that is something coach Siot Tanquingcen does not want to happen.

“We have to continue to play good defense and stay focused in our execution,” said Tanquingcen.

Air21 hopes to end its campaign with a win as the Express, holding a 3-5 mark, will be eliminated for the second straight conference. But this tournament is far better from their 0-14 stint in the previous Philippine Cup.
