Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao reiterated that he still wants to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. even for a reduced fight purse.
“It would be great if I could fight him before I retire,” Pacquiao, 33, told reporters on Sunday during the annual Elorde Awards Night at the Dusit Hotel in Makati City.
“That’s fine with me even if it’s not going to be a 50-50 in the fight purse. If he likes a bigger share in the fight purse, that would be fine but I want an equal sharing in the pay-per-view [revenue],” he added.
Pacquiao pointed out that it would be too much if Mayweather would still take all the pay-per-view revenue. “Sobra naman yun [That’s too much],” he retorted.
Pacquiao said that, that is all he can do for the much-awaited fight in boxing history to push through, “Wala na po akong magagawa kung ayaw niya [I can’t do anything if he really doesn’t want to fight me],” he said.
Pacquiao also promised that he would keep his cool regardless of what the thrash-talking unbeaten American boxer say about him.
“I’ll stay humble whatever he says,” Pacquiao said.
