Earlier today inside of the Hollywood Theater in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the final press conference for this Saturday’s Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz WBC welterweight championship bout was held. Dubbed ‘Star Power’, Mayweather-Ortiz headlines one of the biggest shows of the years that includes appearances from Erik Morales, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is a dual-site attraction, and rising prospect Jesse Vargas.
The mood in the building was relatively somber as the presser appeared to drag on a bit, but some words were exchanged towards the end between Mayweather Jr. and Ortiz’s trainer Danny Garcia, who begged for the undefeated star to not fight dirty this time around. This caught Mayweather off guard, as he roared back with some input of his own, claiming that he was the attraction of the show and that all he had been doing was ‘dominating the sport for the past sixteen years’.
The ‘Star Power’ event will air live this Saturday on HBO Pay-per-view at 9 PM/ET.
