FILIPINO boxing icon and Sarangani Province Cong. Manny Pacquiao yesterday clarified that he is gunning for the governorship in his province come 2013 elections, contrary to reports that he will run for vice president.

Pacquiao also said he would rather concentrate on boxing first instead of politics, especially in view of his upcoming rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico.

Pacquiao arrived at the NAIA Centennial Terminal at around 6 a.m. via Philippine Airlines flight PR-103 from Mexico via Los Angeles.

He went to New York and then Mexico to join Marquez in promoting their November 12 fight which will be held in Las Vegas. Their promo tour kicked off in Manila recently.

The boxer said he is ready to face Marquez come November and had been training really hard for their rematch.
